IPSafe
Our most cost-effective offering, IPSafe is a simple solution whereby data files can be delivered to our secure server either by upload or email, whereupon a record is made of their receipt and they are backed-up. Our staff do not see the contents of any files as the system is totally automated. This is a low-cost solution that provides much better protection than posting it to yourself.
Digital timestamping
Digital timestamping is a mechanism whereby a specially obtained timestamp is used to create a unique certificate for each file. At a later date this certificate can be used to prove the original file had to exist at the specified time, and has not been altered since. Although more expensive initially, the unit cost can be very low, and is considered admissible as evidence in the event of a dispute.
Publication of research
One option is to have the details of an invention published in a journal, which is in turn subscribed to (in both printed and online formats) by various commercial, academic and research communities to share ideas without the risk of those ideas being claimed by others.
